Auto-Restart reopens a resolved clarification if the underlying issue has not been fixed — for example, a document that was clarified but remains open at the next reminder level. This ensures that no claim slips through after a clarification is closed too early.
When a resolved clarification automatically restarts
Every day, the routine checks resolved clarifications from Auto-Restart workflows and reopens one when all conditions apply:
The workflow has Auto-Restart enabled.
The maximum restart count has not been reached (empty = unlimited).
Either a restart date set when closing has been reached, or the item still qualifies:
Documents: the document is still open and at one of the configured restart levels (reminder levels).
Deductions: the deduction is still in one of the configured restart deduction statuses.
The restart threshold (days) sets the default restart date relative to when the clarification was closed.
What happens when restarting
The clarification becomes active again, and its restart counter increases.
The escalation status is reset, and it requires a response again.
Responses are tied to a restart round — responses from the previous round no longer count as a "current" response; the clarification truly starts fresh.
A reminder hold is reset if the workflow sets one.
A restart event is logged.
