Auto-Close automatically resolves clarifications when a defined condition is met — so editors don't have to manually close routine cases. Each closed clarification records a closing reason that appears in exports and reports.
Auto-Close Conditions
A workflow with Auto-Close can close clarifications for one of these reasons:

A manual close by a user is recorded as manual.
Close After Threshold
If Close After Threshold is active, set a closing threshold in days (minimum 1). The clarification closes automatically as soon as it has been open for that many days (since its last restart). This is a safety net for clarifications that no one has taken care of.
Close on Accepted Response
The most common comfort option: As soon as the reporter accepts a response, the clarification automatically closes — without a separate "Resolve" step. Combine this with Auto-Restart if the clarification should reopen later in case the voucher remains open.
Interaction with After-Effects
Auto-Close executes the Post-Close After-Effects of the workflow (e.g., lifting reminders or transferring to collections). See After-Effects.

Troubleshooting
If clarifications are not closing automatically, check whether Auto-Close is on and at least one concrete condition has been enabled — the master switch alone has no effect. When closing by threshold, the timer starts from the last start of the clarification, so the threshold is reset if the clarification is restarted.
